Geonosis Arena was intended to be a quick project for Movie Battles 2, but turned out to be one of the more unique levels for the mod due to it’s survival gameplay mechanics. The first version forced the players on the defensive team to stick to the center of the map via a zoned area that required at least one player on the team to be within the zone. After “holding” the zone for two minutes a scripted sequence of landing ships would commence. The remainder of the defensive team would then board the ships and attempt to escape. The next version removed the zone.
Overall construction of the map was done with GTK Radiant which is part of the Quake 3 Arena SDK.
